Dr. Edith Widder Receives Prestigious MacArthur Award

WaterLife Foundation congratulates our Senior Science Advisor, Dr. Edith Widder who has been awarded $500,000 from the MacArthur Fellows Program. This "genius grant" recognizes her creativity, originality and unusual work that contributes to the good of society.

A marine scientist, inventor and deep sea explorer, Dr. Widder is co-founder and director of the Ocean Research & Conservation Association (www.oceanrecon.org). She serves in an advisory capacity to WaterLife (www.waterlife.org), a self-sustaining ngo, whose community-based water and sanitation programs offer dignity and hope to people worldwide.
